Volunteers sought as Club Childrens Officers

Viking are seeking volunteers to take on the role of Club Childrens Officer CCO. Our current CCOs, Alan and Tara, will step down shortly and we are required to have replacements in order to comply with Children First and Swim Ireland regulations. Skills suited to a CCO Approachable Good listener Well organised Motivated Prepared to pass on concerns to relevant agencies if necessary Duties of The Club Children’s Officer Comply with Swim Ireland rules and regulations Ensure completion of required training and awareness of the role within The Club Act in the best interest of young people Ensure young people have the opportunity to express opinions and views Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented and effective in all areas of The Club Act as an advisor for and report concerns of abuse to the appropriate authorities The CCO shall take responsibility for monitoring and report to The Club committee

Leinster Youth/Senior Championship 2018

Please see details below for the Leinster Youth/Senior Championship which will be held from Saturday May 5th (evening) through to Monday May 7th. As the gala arrangements have changed substantially since last year, please carefully read the following, along with the gala documentation. 1. This gala is only for swimmers (registered with Leinster-region clubs) aged 15yrs or over on Dec 31st next (that is, born in 2003 or earlier). Younger swimmers (aged 11-14) will compete in the Leinster Age-Group gala which will be held over the first weekend in June. 2. The Youth/Senior Division One and the Division Two galas concurrently. Heats for swimmers in any particular discipline in Division One will be followed immediately by heats in the same discipline in Division Two. Event numbers 1 to 41 are Division One events. Please see the link below for details of the Aer Lingus SC Gala in May. This will be a Level 2 licensed gala, with times achieved eligible for IAG Div 2. The meet is specifically aimed at being an IAG Div 2 qualifier so is target at swimmers looking for IAG Div 2 times. Please consult with coaches who will provide entry advice.
