Volunteers sought as Club Childrens Officers

Viking are seeking volunteers to take on the role of Club Childrens Officer CCO. Our current CCOs, Alan and Tara, will step down shortly and we are required to have replacements in order to comply with Children First and Swim Ireland regulations. Skills suited to a CCO Approachable Good listener Well organised Motivated Prepared to pass on concerns to relevant agencies if necessary Duties of The Club Children’s Officer Comply with Swim Ireland rules and regulations Ensure completion of required training and awareness of the role within The Club Act in the best interest of young people Ensure young people have the opportunity to express opinions and views Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented and effective in all areas of The Club Act as an advisor for and report concerns of abuse to the appropriate authorities The CCO shall take responsibility for monitoring and report to The Club committee

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING THURS 9TH NOVEMBER

Viking Swimming Club will hold its Annual General Meeting at 7.30PM on Thursday the 9th November 2017 in Ballyfermot Sports and Fitness Centre. Any parents who may be interested in volunteering to join the management committee should contact the Club Chairman, Club Secretary or any of the other Committee Members directly. We have a number of vacancies on the committee as a number of the current Committee will be stepping down at the AGM. We would encourage all members to consider giving their time as committee members to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the Club.

Clubmark Award achieved by Viking SC

We are delighted to announce that Viking SC have been awarded the Clubmark Award by Swim Ireland! The overall aim of the Clubmark scheme is to support, recognise and reward Swim Ireland affiliated clubs by providing them with a national roadmap that will help them to develop their services and ultimately achieve the highest of club standards. Following successful completion of the programme, Clubmark SI will act as a mark of quality for participating clubs. It is open to all Aquatics clubs who are currently registered with Swim Ireland. In particular and most importantly the accreditation programme focuses upon attaining and keeping pace with best practice if not leading in areas of best practice with cutting edge ideas. Registration of Members

Can all parents please ensure to return Registration forms at Saturday morning training. All swimmers must have completed registration forms to ensure that they are covered by Swim Ireland’s insurance policy. If forms are not completed and returned, SI will not provide Insurance cover for ANY swimmer. In the interests of all members, non-registered swimmers will not be allowed to resume training until the registration forms have been completed and returned to the club.
